Michael Joseph Galante Sr., 68, of Lowell, died Sunday July 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was married to Charlene (Mills) Galante with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this past May 7th.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Michael and Sigusa (Scuderi) Galante. He was raised by the late Nick and Mary Bisceglio. He graduated in NY from Bushwick High School with the class of 1965.

He retired from Simpson Corp. of Billerica in 2009. In his retirement he worked for the Dracut Public Schools as a crossing guard.

He was a member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman Club and Greater Lowell Fly Fishers. He enjoyed cooking and he was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and spending the summer with his family in Sanford, ME.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Michael Galante Jr. and his husband, Joseph Kinney of Lowell, MA; daughters, Stacy and her husband, Keith Mahan of Lowell, Suzanne and her husband, Michael Allen of Lowell; his brothers and sisters, Joseph and his wife, Karen Galante of Long Island, NY, Lawrence and his wife, Jacqueline Galante of Rocky Point, NY, Rose and her husband, Stephen Beam of Choctaw, OK, Phyllis Galante of Choctaw, OK, Fran Galante of Selden, NY, and Marie Campbell of Selden, NY; grandchildren, Kevin M. Allen, Christopher W. Allen, Emma A. Allen, and Hunter Mahan; brother in law Lenny and his wife, Joan Mills of N. Chelmsford, his special friend of 47 years Norman Ulibarri of Westford, MA, many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours Wednesday 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thursday at 11 AM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.     The best memories of my life where shared with the Galante Family camping at Pearl Hill in Townsend, MA. His enduring friendship with my father was very special. Mike will be missed, but not forgotten by all.

    We cherished every minute hour day spent with Mike his laughter his friendship his knowledge most of all his love! We are so thankful we were able to meet a man like him there will never be another! Camp will never be the same without him we will miss him always! So thankful you didn’t have to suffer but so hurt your gone! Charlene we love you so much and will always be here for you! Rest easy our friend and fly high!
