Mildred R. (Klatka) Bell, 81, formerly of Lowell, MA died suddenly Sunday May 22, 2016 at her home in Londonderry, NH.
She was the wife of the late John E. Bell who died September 10, 1992 after 36 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, MA on October 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Helen (Castor) Klatka. Mildred graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1953, and married John on June 2, 1956.
She belonged to the First Congregational Church in Lowell, MA and later joined the Hillside Church in Dracut, MA. She lived in Lowell, MA, Marlton, NJ and Ohio, NY before moving to Londonderry, NH. While living in Ohio, NY, she belonged to the Republican Club, Happy Homemakers, DAV Auxiliary and Gateway Senior Citizens Club. Mildred worked for the Town of Ohio, NY Supervisors as their secretary. In her retirement, she enjoyed her family, knitting, puzzles and her flower garden.
She is survived by four daughters, Eleanor M. Bell of Lowell, Deborah A. Yost of Hudson, NH, Brenda L. Kluck and her husband Michael of Lowell, MA, Linda G. McCullough and her husband Michael of Londonderry, NH; two sons, Richard A. Bell and his wife Mi Hwa of Palisades Park, NJ and John E. Bell of Poland, NY; three sisters, Eleanor Woodman of Sun Lakes, AZ, Shirley Gibson of Saco, ME and Velma Klatka of Pepperell, MA; and nine grandchildren, Bridget, Kathryn, and Elizah Yost, Brandon and Justin Penrose, Sarah Kluck, Travis Bell, John and Megan McCullough; Mildred is also survived by several great-grandchildren including Andrew, Ayden, Madison and Emma as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert and Walter Klatka.
Visiting hours are Wed. 5 to 7pm. Her Funeral Service will be Thurs. at 9am in the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Burial in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, MA.
