5785 MWojcikMitchell A. Wojcik, born in Lowell, MA on Nov. 3, 1927 to the late Michael and Agnes Wojcik, died peacefully on Saturday May 7, 2016, surrounded by his family.

A devoted husband and father, he was married to Phyllis A. Wojcik, with whom he celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this past February.

He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1945, then attended Northeastern University, where he earned both his BA in Business Administration and his MBA.

In his early years, he worked at the Majestic Café of Lowell (a family-owned business), and the Massachusetts State House. After working many years in administration and as a procurement manager at Raytheon’s Corporate Headquarters in Lexington, MA, he retired in 1992.

An avid golfer, he was a proud member for over 50 years of Mt. Pleasant Golf Club, where he made many lifelong friendships, including the late Eddie Hansbury. A true sports lover, he volunteered his time to coach his sons in youth basketball, baseball, and hockey.

Mitchell was a communicant of St. Mary Church, Chelmsford.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Mitchell M. Wojcik and his companion, Elise Leithauser of Los Angeles, CA, Phillip H. Wojcik and his companion, Kerri Mooney of Chelmsford; a sister, Jane Powell of Falls Church, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Mitchell is also survived by Kerri’s children, Kayla, Sean, and Ryan Pigott, all of Chelmsford. He was the brother of the late Stanley, Julian, Walter, Edward, Emily, Genevieve, and Wanda Wojcik, and Frances Gorman.

Mitchell was loved and cherished by his family and friends. Always the life of the party and quick with a joke, he will be deeply missed. The Wojcik family would like to thank Dr. Jose M. Carrion for contributing so much to Mitchell’s quality over life over the last 20+ years.
