5786 Maglio webPatricia Ann( McCallum) Maglio, of Pelham, NH, died early Friday morning May 13, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving and caring family. Patty was the wife of Kenneth P. Maglio with whom she was married for 47 amazing years.  Born on January 12th, 1950, she was the daughter to the late Donald R. and surviving Rita “Grace” (Dyment) McCallum of Tewksbury. Patty was raised in Tewksbury and graduated Tewksbury Memorial High School with the class of 1967. She continued on to graduate from Lowell State Teachers College in 1971 earning a BA in Education.

Patty retired from Sovereign Bank on Lakeview Avenue in Dracut in 2012. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell and loved listening to Rev. Nicholas Sannella’s Homolies every Sunday morning.  Patty was quick to befriend others with engaging conversations, humorous wit and the best smile . . . whether a close friend of many years or those only with brief interactions, she found sincere interest and excitement in the celebration of people and their stories.  She had true relationships and bonds that carried on throughout her lifetime…loved by all!

She was the builder and creator of many happy childhood memories . . .often referred to fondly as “crazy”.  Piling up kids in the car to be off for an adventure to the beach or Canobie Lake (enjoying the roller coasters maybe even more than the kids).  She was a planner and participant of fun – trips to Hampton Beach, Sugarloaf, North Conway, Aruba, Hawaii, NYC, Bermuda and annual trips to Disney World.

In addition to her husband Kenneth and mother Grace, Patty is survived by her children, Joe and Melissa Maglio, Lynda Maglio, Dawn and Greg Hannes, and Marybeth and Ben Goldman, grandchildren, Mia, Jake, Allura, Zack, Ty and Sienna, sisters, Donna Gale and Linda Moore, her aunt Pauline Silva, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was looking forward to joining her late father, Donald McCallum, her aunt Louise McCallum and cousin Kerry McCallum.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Patricia Ann Maglio to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA  02284 or via www.dana-farber.org/gift.

Visiting hours are on Monday, May 16th from 5 to 7PM at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, CHELMSFORD MA.  Funeral Tuesday, May 17th from the Dolan Funeral Home at 9AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell MA.  Burial following the Mass in Westlawn I Cemetery, Lowell MA.  Arrangements made by Dolan Funeral Home (978)251-4041.  Guestbook at www.dolanfuneralhome.com

Just heard about Patty. My sincere condolences to her family, especially Linda and Donna, whom I knew from the TVA many years ago. I had quite the crush on Patty then. She was the only girl I let drive my motorcycle. I even took her SCUBA diving once.
I am glad she had an extensive family and a good life. I believe Linda went into nursing. I mention this because I am a retired physician, myself, with the greatest respect for nurses. Again, my sympathy for the McCallums and Maglios. Remember all the good times.

Please accept my deepest sympathy after recently learning of Patty’s passing last month. While we three had never crossed paths here living in Pelham all these years, I met Marybeth in Sister’s class at St. Pat’s (grade 2) and Lynda and Dawn at Memorial so many years ago. Fond memories of our mutual Class of 1967.
