Patricia “Pat” Francis Ring, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on January 20, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 86, following a period of declining health.

Born on August 30, 1937, Pat was the daughter of the late Francis and Grace (Lee) Devlin. A graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1956, Pat’s life was marked by a deep commitment to her faith and community. She was a communicant of St. John The Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, where she taught CCD, volunteered at bingo, and served as a Eucharistic minister and lector.

Pat dedicated over 30 years to volunteer work, contributing an impressive 25 years to the Walk for Hunger, where she raised funds for those in need. Known for her incredible generosity, she was a frequent blood donor, donating over 11 gallons during her lifetime.

A skilled bowler and a latecomer to running, Pat embraced new challenges throughout her life. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and had a deep love of reading. She had a passion for traveling and joined her beloved husband on many trips to support his cycling and speed skating races.

Pat is making her final journey alongside her loving husband and best friend, Richard “Dick” Ring, who passed away shortly after her on January 24, 2024. Their family finds immense comfort in the fact that they are together again in death, just as they were in life. Dick and Pat shared a lifelong love, which included 64 years of marriage. They enjoyed spending time at the beach, traveling, dancing, and being outdoors together.

Pat is survived by her treasured children: Nancy Falco and her husband Mark, Michael Ring and his wife Marsha, Kimberly Ring and Marc Turgeon, and Kenneth Ring. She was a cherished grandmother to Cara Donnelly-Justus and her husband Charles, Amanda Falco, Aimee Falco, Julia Cochrane and her husband Kieran, Shannon Ring, Ryan Turgeon, Jack Ring, and Harry Ring. She also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Adeline Cochrane.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Catherine Devlin. Pat was a loving aunt, fostering strong connections with her many nieces and nephews, whom she also leaves behind.

She is predeceased by her son, Timothy Ring, who passed away in 1988, as well as her brother Francis Devlin Jr., and her beloved twin sister, Nancy Ulrickson and her husband Carl. Pat is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Sheila Anthony and her husband Keith, and brother-in-law David Ring and his wife Peggy.

Pat was an incredibly strong woman whose life was a testament to faith, love, kindness, and service to others. She battled many health challenges in recent years and her family is comforted that she is at peace now. Pat will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and her memory will always be cherished in our hearts.

    To the Ring Family,
Jim and I and our family want to extend our sincere condolences to you on the death of both your mom and dad. They surely were excellant role models for you their children, grandchildren, and family.
So many of us, especially in the neighborhood we all shared, have fond memories of both Pat and Dick and the wonderful people they were. They will be missed. God bless.

Please accept our sympathies on the loss of your parents. Pat was always so welcoming to us when we moved into the neighborhood in 1978.
I remember how she delighted in the antics of her grandson and I remembered how she loved her dangling earrings. I smile when I think of Pat.
When I think of Dick, I think of him speeding around Charlemont Court on his bicycle. He loved it so much.
    Both had lives well lived.

I would like to thank everyone who reached out to our family during our time of loss. It was amazing to see so many neighbors and friends, catching up on old times and reminiscing about special memories with my Mom. We thank her group of friends from St John’s for continuing to visit and provide spiritual support as Mom’s health declined, which meant so much to her.
I especially want to thank the tight group of neighbors who have watched out for Mom and Dad as they battled health issues. It was a great comfort to know you were watching out for them and keeping them safe. Thank You !!
