Paula V. (Donovan) MacLellan RN, 82, of Westford, MA died Sunday
January 1, 2017 at Lahey Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was married to the late Roderick MacLellan Sr., who died in 2011.
Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Winthrop J. and
Margaret (Quin) Donovan. She graduated from Holy Cross Academy in
Brookline, with the class of 1952, and Catholic University of
Washington, DC with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Paula had a zest for life that led her on many adventures.
She was a registered nurse and worked in many places around the
country. She retired from the Oncology Clinic at Saints Memorial
Hospital in Lowell. In her earlier years she was a nursing instructor at Lawrence Memorial Hosp. School of Nursing.
Paula was a devout Catholic living her religious values. After high school, she joined the order of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and remained a nun for 15 years. She has been a very active member of St. Catherine Church, teaching RCIA and a member of the choir.
She is survived by a son, Rod MacLellan, Jr. of Westford; daughters,
Christel and her husband, John Hartshorn of Nashua, NH, Paula and her
husband, Michael Turner of Dupont, WA; brother, Robert and his wife,
Carole Donovan of Shakopee, MN; eight grandchildren, Catherine,
Alison, Meghan, and Madison Hartshorn; Aylish, Aydan, Mekayle and
Brady Turner, and many nieces and nephews.
Paula was the sister of the late Joan Diamond of Arlington, MA who
died in 2005.
Paula loved the ocean, especially visiting the Ashworth Hotel in Hampton,NH, going to movies, visits to restaurants, caring for her pets and others and loved sunsets. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visiting hours Wed. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thursday at 11 AM from the
DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass
at 12 Noon at St. Catherine’s Church in Westford. Burial in St.
Catherine’s Cemetery, Westford. Memorials may be made in her name to
