Peter A. Dirubbo of Lowell, MA

Peter A. Dirubbo, 82, of Lowell died Saturday April 14, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was married to Judith Dirubbo with whom he celebrated their 28^th wedding anniversary on July 16^th.

Born in Lowell, he was a son of Peter and Rose (Veiga) Dirubbo.

Peter worked for 42 years for Fletcher Granite in Westford, MA. He also worked as a meat cutter for Star Market, Demoulas, and Purity. He served in the active Massachusetts National Guard from 1953 to 1955 Company C Combat Team and inactive for 18 years out of Fort Devens.

He spent his retired years working at Laughton’s Florist in Chelmsford and St Joseph’s Shrine in Lowell. He spent many years enjoying the Chelmsford Senior Center where he made many friends and enjoyed playing pool. He also had a great love of his dogs.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, John Dirubbo of Ayer, MA; a daughter and son in-law, Cheryl and Dave Goodwin of N. Andover, NH and three stepsons, Todd Griffin of Hudson, NH, Eric Griffin of N. Andover, NA and Robert Griffin of Fitchburg, MA; a brother, William Dirubbo of Amesbury, MA; a sister and brother in-law, Helen and Frank Beauregard of Westford, MA; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Mark and Anthony Dirubbo and great grandfather of the late Calen Dirubbo.

Visiting hours Thursday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 Middlesex St. Chelmsford, MA. Funeral Friday at 8:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home with a 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church 115 Middlesex St. Chelmsford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford.
