Ralph Casale of Bedford, NH formerly of Chelmsford

Ralph Casale, 88, of Bedford, NH formerly of Chelmsford, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Arbors of Bedford, NH.

He was married to the late Louise Casale, who died on June 19, 2016.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Casale. He attended Somerville High School and graduated from Manter Hall School in Cambridge, after  military service, with the class of 1954. Ralph studied engineering at MIT and Northeastern University.

He proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII as an Amphibian Crewman.

Ralph retired from Draper Laboratories of Cambridge. He had previously worked for Lincoln Laboratories of Lexington, and after retirement from Draper worked for Avco in Wilmington.

Ralph was a member of the MIT Quarter Century Club and the Knights of Columbus. He served the Town of Chelmsford as a former Chairman of the Chelmsford School Study Committee and Building Committee for the current Chelmsford High School, and was a former member of the Chelmsford Finance Committee and Chairman of a School Budget Sub-Committee.

He is survived by his sons, Neal and his wife, Michelle Casale of Bedford, NH and James “Jay” Casale of Ashburn, VA; daughters, Lynne and her husband, Anatoly Chukhin of Rochester, NY and Laurie and her husband, Mark Doherty of Vail, AZ; sister, Marie and her husband, Jack Corbett of Kennebunkport, ME; grandchildren, Nicholas Casale, Dayton and Ryan Casale; step-grandchildren, Dmitriy Chukhin and Margarita Chukhina,  Brenden Maya, Matthew and Colleen Doherty, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Lee Denise Casale of Chelmsford.

Visiting hours Thursday March 8, 2018 from 4 – 8 P.M. Funeral Friday at 8:00 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with the Liturgy of the Word at 9 am at St. Mary Church.
