Ralph J. Melchionda Sr., 83 of N. Chelmsford, died on Monday afternoon, August 28, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.
He was the beloved husband of Janet R. (Scaramozzino) Melchionda, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on April 24, 2023.
Born in Boston September 27, 1939, the son of the late Alfred and Lillian (Falanga) Melchionda. He received his early education in the Boston School System, and was a graduate of East Boston High School with the Class of 1956. He furthered his education at the former Lowell Technical College, earning a Bachelor in Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
He proudly served in the National Guard.
After a long, distinguished career, he retired as President of High Voltage Engineering in Burlington, MA in 2003.
Ralph’s retirement was filled with time spent with family, golfing and spending precious time with his beloved grandchildren. He was communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. He will always be remembered for his love of family and his dedication to his work and colleagues.
Besides his wife Janet, he is survived by a son, Ralph J. Melchionda and his wife Janet of Pelham, NH. a daughter, Susan Brown and her husband, James of Rindge, NH, a brother, Alfred Melchionda and his wife, Nancy of Amesbury, MA, also, by two sisters, Mary Frances LaBrecque and her husband, Dennis and Florence Grieco, all of Salem, NH, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Dear Janet, I was so sad to hear about Buster’s passing. He always made me laugh ❤️. Growing up I always loved being around you all. I will never forget the one and only time I was able to dive was with Buster’s help, in your pool. He and will always be in my heart ❤️. So sorry I couldn’t be there.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I really enjoyed working with him in the 90s. We spent very pleasant moments with Ralph at home in France, and will keep very good memories of Ralph . Rest in peace

Chère Janet et enfants de Ralph nous sommes de tout cœur avec vous . J’ai passé de très bons moments de détente et de travail avec Ralph , notre séjour en famille à Lowell a marqué , je dirais même changé notre vie . Je suis très triste de n’avoir pas eu l’occasion cette année de venir vous voir comme discuté avec lui .

J’ai rencontré Ralph lorsque je travaillais à VIVIRAD, j’ai eu également l’occasion aussi de passer quelques jours à Boston et de faire ainsi la connaissance de Janet.
