Raymond W. Judge, age 90, a proud life-long resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, after a four-month stay at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.

Ray was the loving husband to Edna (Taylor) Judge, with whom he celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on March 31, 2017.

Born in Chelmsford he was the son of the late Lawrence and Agnes Judge. A 1944 graduate of Chelmsford High School, Ray served as his class agent for the CHS Alumni Association’s Lion’s Pride. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University where he was the President of the Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army during WWII.

In 1987 Ray retired from Textron where he worked in its defense program on the maintainability and reliability of missile systems. For the next ten years he was affiliated with the Dynamics Research Corporation at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Ray was a member of the Masonic Order’s Pentucket Lodge, the Scottish Rite Blue Lodge, and the Shriners Aleppo Temple where he participated in its Oriental Band. He was a long-time member of the Journey Church on the Common, formerly Central Baptist Church of Chelmsford where he served in a number of roles including Church Moderator.

Ray enjoyed travelling, cooking, researching family genealogy, and spending summers in Hampton, NH. He loved time shared with family and friends, especially with his beloved grandson, Trevor.

Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Cynthia M. Sandholm of Westford; grandson, Trevor S. Sandholm and his girlfriend Kira Baldassaro of Manchester, NH; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lawrence G. Judge.

Visitation will be held Wed. Oct. 18, 2017 from 10 TO 11A.M. with an 11A.M. Funeral Service at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. Committal Service to follow at the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02111.
