Renae Lynn (Blanchette) Berg age 48, passed away after a long illness in her home in Lawrence, MA on Thursday, May 13th, 2021.
Renae was born in Lowell, MA on August 25th, 1972 to Sharon E. (Blanchette) Hamel and the late Roger Blanchette. A graduate of the Greater Lowell “Voke”, the University of Massachusetts Lowell and previously having worked in the property management field.
Renae is survived by her parents, Sharon and Leo R. Hamel Jr of North Billerica, MA, her siblings Michael Blanchette, his wife Jennifer and their three children, Michael, Lauren and Jacob, her sister Danielle (Hamel), her husband Dennis “Patrick” Gavin II and their children – Cody, Chelsea, Chloe, Cali, and Cora. She was also survived by her Aunt Kathy Estabrook who resided with the family throughout her life.
She is survived by three step siblings, Donna Hamel, Paul Hamel, and Leo Hamel III along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Renae is preceded in death by her father Roger Blanchette, her Aunt Gena Beaudry, her maternal grandparents Villa and Eldon Estabrook and Edward A. and Rita (Asselin) Blanchette.
Renae loved to travel and spend time with her family prior to her illness. She was also an avid animal lover and her pets were her children. Renae touched many lives with her generosity and her passion for life.
Over the past couple years Renae enjoyed spending time with her companion, Christopher Johnson and his parents Francene and Peter at their lake house in Weirs Beach, NH.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services at Dolan Funeral Home 106 Middlesex St North Chelmsford, Massachusetts Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 9 am. This will be followed by a graveside vigil at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the MSPCA.
