Richard P. Sylvain, 75, of Lowell, MA died Sunday evening, August 14, 2016 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford.
He was the former husband of the late Jane Ann (Barrett) Sylvain who died in June 8, 2014.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen Sylvain. He was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1958. He attended Merrimack College and Suffolk University.
He served in the US Army.
Richard worked as a correctional officer for the Middlesex County at MCI Concord, Gardner and Shirley. He also worked as an usher at the N. Shore Music Theater.
He was an avid Collector. Richard volunteered Lowell Canal Cleaners, and was a longtime season ticket holder for the Merrimack Repertory Theatre.
He is survived by his son, Peter Sylvain and his wife Rebecca Rowlands of Lowell, MA; a daughter, Tiffani Sylvain of Lowell, MA; a brother Raymond and his wife, Zenir Sylvain of Sarasota, FL; a sister Terry and her husband Michael Evaristo of Dracut, MA; a grandson, Thomas “Toby” Sylvain; many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Wed. 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral Thurs. at 8:00 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD with A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church N. Chelmsford. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
