Roger Jean, 84, a 20-year Army Veteran, formerly of Lowell, MA died Sunday morning, March 13, 2016 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA.

He was married to the late Theresa Jean, who died on February 16, 1990.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Alfred and Claudina Jean. He graduated from Lowell Trade High School with the class of 1950.

He proudly served for 20 years with the U.S. Army; including being a veteran of the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of SP5.

Roger retired in 1992 from Honeywell-Bull in Lawrence where he worked for 26 years as a machinist.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Roger was a resident of Lowell for over 40 years. He was a former member of the CMAC in Lowell.  Roger’s family was the center of his life, and his pride and joy.

He is survived by two sons, Roger Jr. and his wife, Maureen Jean of Chelmsford, Raymond and his wife, Donna Jean of Lowell; four daughters, Cecile and her husband, Gary Wright of Hudson, NH, Agnes and her husband, David Saliba of Winchester; Rita and her husband, William Zannoni of Dracut and Corinne and her husband, Michael Abboud of Chelmsford; and eleven grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Mark Beauregard, Craig Wright, Ray, Lauren, Matthew, and Alyssa Jean, William and Theresa Zannoni, Ibrahim and Bryanna Abboud, and Amanda Saliba

He was the grandfather of the late David A. Saliba and the brother of the late Georgette Theroux, Priscilla Kilbride, Maurice and Therese Jean, and Sr. Gabrielle Jean OMI.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Sunny Acres in Chelmsford for the care and support extended to Roger and his family during this past year.

At Roger’s request, there will be no Visiting Hours. Funeral Mass Wed. at 9:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church 115 Middlesex St. Chelmsford.  Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Memorials may be made in his name to the Fisher House Foundation; which provides support to veterans, 111 Rockville PK. Ste. 420, Rockville, MD 20850.
