Sombath Chea, beloved husband and devoted father, age 58, of Lowell, MA died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was married to Roeum Choup with whom he would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on July 1st.
Born in Sihanouk, Cambodia on August 10, 1960 the son of the late Chea Cheath and Am Touch.
Sombath came to the USA in 1985 and became a US Citizen.
He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his granddaughters. He was a very easy going, kind, generous and caring person.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Sarey Chuop of Lowell, and Channy Thay and her husband Randy of Lowell; granddaughters Alexia and Madison Soan, and Riley Thay; sisters Oy and Jung Chea and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Sarem Chuop and brother of the late Ayn Chea.
Visiting hours are Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a procession to the Glory Buddhist Temple at 2:30. Funeral Saturday at the Glory Buddhist Temple, with a procession to Merrimack Cremation Service at 1 P.M. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-256-4040.
