Sokha Sok, 85, of Lowell

Mrs. Sokha Sok, age 85, of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, the late Dr. Sophan Mey who passed away in 1978. Born in Svay Rieng, Cambodia on March 1^st, 1936, the daughter of the late Him and Vorng Sok.

Sohka was a member of the Glory Buddhist Temple in Lowell, MA. She was a dedicated and devoted Buddhist who would often be found doing charity work. There she would volunteer her time and give back to her community. Her contributions and generosity were unmatched. Sokha donated and helped in the building process of temples and schools in the hometown of her late husband. She had a deep and profound love for meditation. Those who knew her spoke highly of her graciousness.

She loved spending time with family- her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were what made her most proud. She is survived by seven children, Sophaly Chan and her husband David of Lowell MA, Sophala Mey of New Jersey, Sovanna Mey and his wife Dany of New York, Sovathara Mey of New York, Sokharith Mey and his wife Socheata of Lynn MA, Christopher Mey and his wife Bopha of Tyngsboro MA, David Mey of Lowell, twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Samuth Sok.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend our mothers funeral services. Wake will take place from 4-6pm on Sunday August 22^nd  at Dolan Funeral Home. The Buddhist ceremony will be at Glory Buddhist Temple located at 24 Cambridge st Lowell, MA following the wake. Monday August 23^rd at 8am from Glory Buddhist Temple to crematory at Merrimack Cremation Service in Merrimack, NH. We will return to the temple for final service and lunch for all relatives and friends.
