Deborah Strout Janes of Chelmsford

Deborah Strout Janes, 71, of Chelmsford, MA died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital.

 

Born in Holden, MA in 1948, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Marshall) Janes.

 

She graduated from Wachusett Regional High School with the class of 1966.

 

She was a Worcester State Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree.

 

She held a variety of jobs over the years, including teaching and office jobs at various companies, but was she especially fond of her time as a letter carrier for USPS of Rutland MA, and of her years working and volunteering at the New England Quilt Museum of Lowell. She loved meeting with her friends there. Deborah was an active member of the Chelmsford Quilters’ Guild and enjoyed helping with shows.

 

Her love of quilting began over 40 years ago. Giving people quilts, quilted clothing, and wall hangings brought her joy. Her mind was always active, thinking of the next project and thirty more. When masks were needed for the Covid-19 pandemic, she began making them to give away. Her friends and family will miss, her creativity, willingness to share her knowledge, compassion, sharp wit, and sense of fun.

 

She is survived by her son Anthony “Tony” Janes of Hillsborough, NH and his partner Davina Ngan; a daughter Cristina “CJ” Todtenkopf and her husband Mark of Franklin, MA; one grandchild, Ava Janes; five sisters and a brother, Lorinda Fearebay and her husband Dennis of Berlin, MA, Barbara Gutierrez and her husband Arturo of Evergreen, CO, Marshall Janes of Townsend, MA, Marjorie Janes of Woodstock Valley, CT, Natalie Ridge and her husband Stephen of Evans, NY, and Caroline “Cricket” Lomicka and her husband Jeffrey of Chelmsford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and friends.

 

She was the sister of the late Gregory Janes, and Joanne Strauch.

A celebration of life will be held later when it is safe to do so.

Memorials may be made in her name to the New England Quilt Museum.

Paul W. Burke of Billerica, MA formerly of N. Chelmsford.

Donna J. Parker formerly of Burlington

chistmas photo 300x293Donna Jean Parker, 65, of Tewksbury, MA formerly of Burlington, MA died Saturday, May 2, 2020 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.

Donna was born in Woburn, MA, and was the daughter of the late Donald and Jeanne (Packard) Parker.She attended the Burlington Public Schools.

She also attended NuPath of Westford and CMARC of Woburn for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Malachy Catholic Church of Burlington and St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.

Donna adored her family and many friends. She loved music and television and especially the Three Stooges.

She is survived by two sisters, Cynthia and her husband, Leroy Boucher of Townsend, MA, and Laurie Oley of Westford, MA, a brother, Glenn and his wife Denise Parker of N. Chelmsford, MA, a sister-in-law, Francine Parker of Gilford, NH, and 9 nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Robert Parker of Gilford NH,and Aunt of the late Kerry Parker of Gilford.

Samouen Som of Lowell

She was the wife of the late San Svay.

She was born in Kampong Speu, Cambodia on May 6, 1947.  She came to the USA in August of 1984 and became a US Citizen in 2005.

Samoeun loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching movies.

She is survived by her sons, Sos Svay and his wife Nai Kuy of Lowell, Robert Svay and his wife Pratna Chin of Lowell, and Denny Soy and his wife Sophy Hong of Lowell; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Meak Som.

Her funeral will be private.

Heang Taing, 95, of Lowell, MA died Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was married to the late Keang Taing, who died in 1976.

Born in Kampong Speu, she was the last surviving child out of the eight children of the late Lou Loung

Heang came to the USA in 1991 and became a US Citizen in 2010.

She was an active member of the Fifth Street First Baptist Church in Lowell.

She was very charitable. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Heang is survived by her sons, Paul Kong and his wife Amy Kong of Dracut, MA, and Huor Taing and his wife Sophanith Sar of Lowell, MA; daughters, Chou Huy and her husband Sarun Loung of Fairfield, CT, Loung Thy and her husband Siyun Ou of Lowell, MA, and Seang Taing and her husband Soleang Loon of Cambodia; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Maurice Milot of Lowell

obt 280x300Maurice Milot, 79, of Lowell and formerly of Brookline NH, passed away April 18, 2020, at Lowell General Hospital.

He was born in Westford, MA the son of the late Lucien and Albertine (Allard) Milot.

Maurice was educated in the Westford school system and retired as a carpenter from Hicks Homes in Westford. He had previously worked at Murray printing in Westford.

When he was not at work, he enjoyed fishing and CB and Ham radio operating.

Maurice was predeceased by his wife, Joyce M. (Fayton) Milot who passed away in 2006, and his brothers, Robert Milot, Paul Milot, and Sylvio Milot.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Arlene Rayball of Lowell, her children, which he viewed as his own, Anthony Rayball of Lowell and Sara Cleary-Rayball of Littleton, a sister, Cecile Roche of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the last Jose and Selicita Vargas. She graduated from Ponce High School with the class of 1954.

She moved to New York in 1982.

Alicia was a devote Jehovah Witness. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Alicia was a strong woman with a heart of gold.

She is survived by a daughter Ines A. Melendez of Lowell, a son, Jorge Colon of Lowell, six grandchildren, Alexandra Colon, Jeanette Caraballo, Mickael Torres, Elmer Torres, Edwin Alcantaro, Jorge Alcantaro, Alexander Alcantaro, and nine great grandchildren.

Benildo “Boy/ Ben” Lucero, 61, of Westford, MA died on Good Friday, April 10, 2020 surrounded by family.  Benildo lost his battle with cancer (sarcoma) diagnosed a year ago in April.

Born in Amadeo, Cavite of the Philippines, he was the son of the late Miguel Lucero and of Asuncion (Angcanan) Lucero.

Benildo earned his Associate’s Degree in Maritime Transportation from the Philippine Maritime Institute. He earned a living as a jeepney and taxicab driver in the Philippines while taking care of his own family and younger siblings in the Philippines when both parents came to the United States. His dream of coming to the US was realized in 2008, but he had to spend the next 12 years separated from his family in the Philippines. Working as a long-time galley and bedroom hand for ENSCO and Bisso Marine offshore oil refineries, he was often away from family in the US, only visiting on rare holidays. A recession layoff brought him home to Massachusetts and he drove for Uber until his health declined.

Benildo was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Church of Westford, MA. He was a member of the Filipino Apostolate, the Malden Filipino Choir and the Knights of Columbus.

His family described him as someone with tremendous courage, strength, determination and self- sacrifice. He persevered through many of life’s challenges and was incredibly hardworking, friendly and always telling jokes to make us smile. Singing, dancing, cooking, and spending time with his family were among the things he loved the most. Benildo became a US Citizen in 2016 and was working towards bringing his wife and three daughters to the USA, but was hindered by his illness.

Benildo is survived by his wife Joselyn (Joya) Lucero who is currently residing in the Philippines with their daughters Sophia, Patricia and Franz; his ex-wife, Luz Sulla of the Philippines with their children – Kristine, Michael, Marjorie, Gracielle, Cheryll, Jan Martin and Justin. He is also survived by his brothers – Bryan Lucero of Manchester, NH; Oliver and his wife Anna Marie Lucero of Anchorage, AK; Marlon and his wife Mel Lucero of Manchester, NH; his sisters – Annie and her husband Danny Talaid of Westford, MA; Tess Monteyro and her husband Dean Berube of Newmarket, NH; Elsa De Lara of Manchester, NH; Marietta and her husband Jojo Barton of the Philippines; Malou and her husband Peter Harmsen of the Netherlands; his seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Farrar of Gardner, MA who died February 1, 2004.

A loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, Boy will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

On Good Friday, April 10, 2020, Ethel Marlene (Clayton) Kennedy of Groton, MA was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, following a battle with cancer.

Ethel was born on April 29, 1937 to the late Thomas A. and Mary (Kinney) Clayton.  She grew up in the Centerville and “Prince Spaghettiville” sections of Lowell. Following her father’s death when she was 17, Ethel left school to help support her mother and 3 younger siblings.

On August 23, 1957 Ethel married Richard F. Kennedy.  A short time later they moved to Groton where they made their home and raised their 5 children.  Richard Kennedy passed away on March 9, 2007.

In addition to her most important position as wife and mother, Ethel also worked at, among other places, Sterilite Manufacturing, the Groton-Dunstable Regional High School Cafeteria (while her children were in school,) Wang Laboratories, and eventually retired as the Cafeteria Manager  at the Swallow Union School in Dunstable, MA.

Although she never finished High School, Ethel held advanced degrees in practical knowledge and common sense. ‘Ma’, ‘Mom’, ‘Mummy’, ‘Ham’, ‘Gramma’, ‘Eth’, ‘Ethel’ and ‘Aunt Ethel’ will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was pre-deceased by her brother Thomas, who died in infancy, and her sister Mary Louise, who succumbed to pneumonia as a toddler.

Ethel is survived by her children:  Richard (Cherry) of South Hiram, ME; Philip (Brenda) of Gardner, MA; Jeffrey (Nancy) of Adams, MA; her only daughter Mary Elizabeth, of Exeter, NH; and Colin (Cynthia) of Pepperell, MA.  She is also survived by her brothers Horace (Ann) Clayton of Chelmsford, MA, Philip (Cynthia) Clayton of Rockland, ME, and her sister Joanna Clayton of Wilmington MA. She leaves a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also leaves numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was greatly loved and cherished by all who knew her.

The Kennedy family wishes to thank the nurses at Nashoba Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association and particularly Nurse Jennifer Garcia who helped her remain at home until her passing.

Richard Michael Gallagher, 73, of North Chelmsford, MA died Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home.

He was married to the late Diane (Vinskey) Gallagher, who died on February 28, 2014.

Born in Boston MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Shine) Gallagher. Richard graduated from Central Catholic High School. He then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Louisiana State and his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Suffolk University.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army National Guard.

Richard was employed with Arbour Counseling of Lowell, MA.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Parish and the Chelmsford Catholic Collaborative of Chelmsford, MA.

Richard loved traveling to the Caribbean and sailing.

Richard is survived by his son Ryan and his wife, Souen Gallagher of Dracut, MA; three brothers, Jerry Gallagher of Syracuse, NY, Paul Gallagher and his wife, Jeanne of North Andover, MA, and  Brian Gallagher and his wife Beth of Stratham, NH; his two grandchildren, Tristan and Scarlett Gallagher, and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara J. Mullane of Littleton, MA

Barbara J. Mullane, 85, of Littleton died Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Emerson Hospital.

She was married to the late Paul F. Mullane, who died on October 20, 2004.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Alice G. (Bullock) Dacey.

She graduated from Arlington High School with the class of 1952.

She moved to Chelmsford in 1966 and then to Dracut in 1972 where she was a long time resident.

She worked at Jordan Marsh and Macy’s in Lowell and most recently at the Hyannis Shaw’s Supermarket.

She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Golf fan.

She is survived by her children, Paul M. Mullane and his wife Luciene of Norfolk, MA and Daniel P. Mullane and his wife Taya of Pepperell, MA, a sister Ruth O’Brien of Kingston, three grandchildren, Danielle Mullane, Paul Mullane and John Mullane, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Daniel Dacey, Paul Dacey, Sister Trasita Dacey, Alice Coakley and Helen Nathan.

All funeral services are private and at the convenience of her family with burial to take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Daniel James Angove of North Adams

Born in Lowell, Ma he was the son of the late Dean Angove Sr.  and Luann (Pelletier) Eggleston of Turners Falls, MA.

Daniel was a 2003 graduate of Greenfield High School and was currently working as a manager at Dunkin Donuts in North Adams.

When he was not at work, Mr. Angove enjoyed snowboarding, shooting billiards and spending time with family and friends. Above all else he loved spending time with his children, they were his world.  His life will be forever cherished through the lives of his children with whom he held dearly in his heart

He is survived by his mother, Luann (Pelletier) Eggleston and her husband Jon of Turners Falls, MA, three children, Dean Angove, Makenzie Angove, and Skylah Angove, a brother, Dean Angove and his wife Elizabeth of Granville, NY, a sister Rebecca Disciullo and her husband Joel of Erving, MA, a step brother Paul Gallagher and his wife Elizabeth of North Adams, Paul Angove with whom he resided and was a father figure for Daniel, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Maureen Cobleigh of Billerica, MA

Born in Lowell, MA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rita  (Leblanc) Cobleigh. She graduated from the Winslow School and Lowell High  School.  Maureen earned her Bachelor’s  degree in chemistry from Lowell Technical Institute and her Master’s degree in education from University of   Lowell.

She retired from Billerica Public Schools in 1997 where she was a high  school math teacher for 25 years.
Maureen was a communicant of St. Theresa Church of Billerica, MA and  St. John the Evangelist Parish of North Chelmsford, MA. Compassion was in her nature and donated platelets for 20 years at  Dana Farber.

She enjoyed traveling, playing cribbage,  and other card games.

She is survived by her sister, Michelle E Healy and her husband James  of Naples, FL., a niece Leigh Davis and her husband Thomas of Nanuet,  NY., and two grand-nephews Kevin and Stephen Davis of Nanuet, NY, as  well as many close friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial  Mass on Monday, June 8th 2020, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist  Church, 115 Middlesex St. N. Chelmsford. Her burial was privately held  in Thompson Cemetery, Tyngsboro. Charlotte (Dinnigan) White of Chelmsford

White obituary Pic108 254x300Charlotte (Dinnigan) White, 86 of Chelmsford, MA died Monday, March 23rd at home with her husband, daughter and grandson. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. White for 67 years.

Born in North Chelmsford, MA October 3rd, 1933. A daughter of the late Charles Dinnigan (Hall of Fame bowler and owner of Dinnigan Lanes Bowling Alley) and the late Alice (Whitworth) Dinnigan. She graduated from Chelmsford High in 1951 and went on to attend classes at Lowell Tech.

Before retiring Charlotte was the Secretary to the President of Raytheon. She ended her career as an office manager for Colonial Wire and Cable.

Charlotte was a devoted and selfless mother. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was kind, loving, and funny. She loved music; there wasn’t a song she wouldn’t dance to. She also enjoyed writing poetry and playing cribbage with friends.

Charlotte loved spending winters in Florida and summers in Beverly, MA.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Robert J. White , her daughters, Heidi Jerman and Wendy James; her grandson Thomas Jerman; her sister Norma Dinnigan; She is predeceased by her two brothers Walter Dinnigan and Robert Dinnigan.

In memory of Charlotte, we encourage you to perform a random act of kindness. Bring some love and happiness into someone’s life. Live each day with love and purpose and bring joy to others.

He enjoyed working on cars.
Besides his mother he is survived by his step father, Saroeun Oeor, and brothers, Laundy Oeur and Tiesloung Oeur of Lowell, and a sister, Taiwa Oeur of Lowell, MA.

Dorene Grace (McSheehy) Boyle of N. Chelmsford June 10, 1947-March 23, 2020

Boyle Pic 244x300Dorene Grace Boyle, 72, of North Chelmsford passed away on March 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was married to the late Thomas Michael Boyle who died in March of 2017.  She was the daughter of the late John and Theresè (Geoffroy) McSheehy and the sister of the late Patricia (McSheehy) Fournier. She graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1965 and was a member of the Chelmsford High School Alumni Association.
Dorene retired in 2018 after 40 years of service as a special education teacher.
Dorene was an avid reader, especially for Steven King novels and enjoy spending her free time at the McKay library. She was an active member at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard Krane and his wife Kathaleen of Hinsdale, NH; daughters Tamara McNulty and her husband Steven of N. Chelmsford, Jody Ronayne and her husband Paul Depetrillo of Pelham, NH; five grandchildren, Patrick and Shawn Ronayne, Amber Krane, Rhiannon McNulty, and Sophia Depetrillo; sister, Debbie McSheehy of Kansas City,MO;  nieces, Jennifer Pate, and Melissa Burris, and a nephew Mark Kitsmiller.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in her name to the Chelmsford Library Book Fund of MacKay Library c/o  Chelmsford Library 25 Boston Road Chelmsford, MA 0182

Edmund Francis Donnelly, 81, a longtime resident of Westford, died Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was married to the late Margaret F. (Gault) Donnelly who died May 17, 2004.

Born in Boston, MA he was the son of the late Daniel and Ann (Barker) Donnelly.  He graduated from Somerville High School with the class of 1956.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army.

He was employed with Market Basket in Westford in the produce department. Previously, he worked at Stop n Shop and Star Market.

He was a member and Past President of the Fletcher Club in Westford.

He was a member of the Irish American Club in Malden, the AW Vinal Post 313, and the American Legion in Chelmsford.

Edmund enjoyed bowling, darts, and playing and umping softball. He was an avid New England sports fan.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Edmund is survived by his daughters, Margie Engberg of Athol, and Missy Falconer of Westford; four grandchildren, Renee and James Engberg, and William (Billy) and Marissa Falconer; a great granddaughter Zoe Bodinizzo; brothers, James and his wife Camille Donnelly of Saugus, MA, and Thomas Donnelly of Peabody, MA; sisters, Ann Port and her husband George of Newburyport, MA, and Ellen Morel of Manchester, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the father in law of the late Jim Engberg and brother of the late Daniel and Stephen Donnelly, Mary Davison, Frances Zand, Elizabeth Sim, and Kathleen Manz.

A virtual wake will be Thursday from 10 to 11am at DOLANFUNERALHOME.COM followed by an 11 virtual Funeral Mass at Chelmsfordcatholic.org St. John’s Church livelink.  Private burial to follow in Pinegrove Cemetery, Westford. Jay Rose of N. Chelmsford and Brookline

PC Pic 4 300x300 Jay Samuel Rose, 72, of N. Chelmsford, formerly of Brookline, MA died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital. He was married to Mrs. Geri (McDermott) Rose with whom he
would have celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary on May 6, 2020.
Born in Brooklyn, NY Jay was the son of the late Joseph and Shirley (Wolf) Rose.  He was a graduate of Great Neck High School on Long Island, NY with the class of 1966.  He graduated from Emerson College
with a Bachelor in Arts in Communications with post-graduate work in Audio Engineering.
Jay owned and operated Jay Rose Sound, providing audio post-production services to the radio, television, and film industry.  He was a member of Audio Engineering Society, Cinema Audio Society, Massachusetts Association of Broadcasters, and the National Association of Broadcasters.  He had a passion for his profession and was an educator; the author of “Producing Great Sound for Film and Video” – widely used as a textbook in colleges across the U.S. – among many other educational books; and a worldwide mentor for students in communications and audio.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Joshua  and Melissa Rose of Gulf Breeze, FL and Daniel and Rachel Rose of Framingham, MA; a step son David and his wife Katherine Smith of Bethesda, MD; two step daughters, Tessa and her husband Keith MacGillivary of Hudson, NH, and Caitlyn Tracy of Lowell, MA; two grandchildren, five step grandchildren and 2 nieces.
Jay was the husband of the late Carla (Valentine) Rose who died Dec. 23, 2005 and the sister of the late Lois and Naomi Rose.
No visiting hours. The funeral will be at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, to be followed by a reception at Lenzi’s of Dracut.  The date and time will be announced in a few weeks.  Memorials may be made in his name to the New England Philharmonic orchestra; the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; Goodspeed Musicals of East Haddam, CT; or to the Public Schools of Brookline, MA, to be used specifically for music and theater programs.
